LET THE RACING SEASON BEGIN

Today, Sunday was the official start of da' Goose's racing season. As usual, we had to get up extra early and be there extra early - nobody ever taught the boy to sleep in! Little bit of drizzle, lots of wind - no water in the river. Makes for a good race day. Had family there to cheer him on - what more could the Goose ask for - WELL how about a no flat day. Yep, it happened - luckily he was riding on tubes (guess that is the correct term) - Shawn told him to nurse it in, which he did. Luckily no damage done to his disk or wheel - tires need replaced (but they did any way). They knew beating Jeff Coudron and Brian Barker would be tough - which today didn't happen - but the still managed to come in 2nd or First in the Male/Male division. The Goose did really well today - held his composure. Proud of him. The sad note of today, we had the viewing of the lady that babysat him when he was younger. I really think he viewed her as his 2nd mom.

Life does go on - Monday will be the burial and water running to help the knees.

Part 2

I won't even try to match Egg's Blog. From a cheerleader standpoint - it was an Epic Riding Day. I think you can see by their faces on how they felt. I asked Jeff if he would ever do this again - Egg said now was not the time to ask. Their time was just around 5 hrs 30 min. Start was a little funky but the official time is what counts.

AJ and I were at the finish at the 4 hour mark to watch for Shawn to finish-didn't see him so I hope he is alright and we just missed him.

We went to dinner at Sticky Fingers - it was OK but nothing to write home about. We decided to take a Duck ride - it was fun. The driver had a lot of city knowledge and was a history buff. AJ made it about 10 minutes after it turned into a boat.

Jeff is starting to crash a little - AJ with an almost 4 hour nap is wide awake and ready to go. Should have sent him with Egg and Dobo - I think they will be hyper just like him.

3 State 3 Mountain Part 1

Had dinner with Egg and Dobo last night. Thanks guys for not minding AJ tagging along (or at least acting that way!). Jeff ran into Shawn and Amy after they had checked in. AJ and PoPo fell asleep early (yeah).

This morning PoPo, Egg and Dobo were all smiles. I tried to find Shawn and Amy, but had no luck. It was drizzling when they started and was raining fairly hard when AJ and I got back to the hotel. Hopefully after 2 hours of riding, PoPo has settled into his ride and having fun.
