Today

Well I can say I found ALL the chains that have been left behind on the roads today. But all in all, I had a good ride. A strange cramping -- which makes no sense at all.

Goose rode with his partner tonight instead of the Delight Night Ride. Things went really well - big goals for Sunday, which are all achievable.

Thursday - I hope to beat the rain and Goose plans on running. \

Fun times at the Goose and Noose nest :)

Recovery

Goose's recovery is good! He raced hard on Saturday, feeling good today. Getting ready for his next race on Sunday. His partner trained while on vacation, he took his bike with him and the family - got in some ride and run time.

Corrected Milton TImes

Just checked the splits for Milton - new (corrected) finish times - Goose beat the next guy by 10+ (not 5) minutes!! He kicked both sides of the a@@ :)

West Milton Triathlon

This is Goose in Leon's C1 Pro Boat (right ride up at this time!)
AJ couldn't decide if it was PoPo making those sounds or the Geese at the pond! Jeff was the first person down the hill into the park. He was thrilled with that.

Ready to roll with Ken Davis.
I think he was happy with his race.

I checked the website late last night and the overall times were available but the splits weren't. Speed Feet had a full house yesterday and they have lots of numbers to sort through. I was surprised that some people cut the cycling course short. Obviously, no way to cut the canoe or run course short. I can't wait to see the splits.

Goose won the solo division by 5 minutes. He had the 4th fastest time out of all 350+ people. The 3 guys that beat him - Jeff Coudron, Brian Barker and Ken Davis were almost untouchable Saturday. Goose was lucky and rode with Ken Davis (Leon Burk's son-in-law). Ken has been running, but hasn't cycled much. The guy is an animal, can't imagine how good he would be if he was able to ride more. Not sure how much time he could have cut off if the boat would have stayed open side up.
Doesn't matter - Goose had a blast. It was just him, nobody to blame and nobody to blame him if things went wrong - and the only thing that really happened was getting caught between 2 wakes and going over. His run - he didn't struggle- had trouble breathing with the wind in his face, and he was glad it was over. His bike, said one half was easy other have was into the wind.
Saw people that we really only see once a year - watched a few people race their first triathlon (and did very well) - Another great Milton Triathlon in the books.

Just Waiting

Just waiting on the official results to post picts and times. Goose was on FIRE today! For the second time - he made a quad not triathlon. Lol details about that later. All I can say he recovered from that and proceeded to kick some ass :)

Ready

Goose hit the river today to work out all the kinks. He now has his belly full of pasta and water. Off to bed for an EARLY rise. Wants to get there early to claim his bike spot, get his number and get into the water. He is ready to roll :)

Fun day tomorrow. Milton is always fun - get to see people that only show up once a year for some fun. Hopefully we get home early enough that Noose can go out for a nice ride.

Twitter

OK - we finally set up a twitter account. Not sure why - lord don't people call each other any more? I was sorta surprised those that had an account. Guess we are old and are slow to catch on - oh well :P

Legbreaker

Sunday was Egg's 4th Annual Legbreaker with a new course. He tried to get Goose to look at the elevation chart, but Goose refused. He really didn't want to know what was in store for him. Sunday morning came early for us. After an evening of parking cars at St Chris festival, a later than normal bedtime, when the alarm went off my first thought was it can't be time. Yep it was :) When we pulled into Twin Towers lot Egg and Rhino were already there with the usual big smiles. Next was Mthd (who I thought was unusually quiet!) and next Big Tim. We didn't get the pleasure of T-Bolt, it was his birthday and family had plans for his special day. Vinnie Bear (AJ calls him that)/Viper opted out also (I think he was getting extra snookie snuggle time with T). After pee breaks they gang headed out.
Egg had an excellent route map for me, so with that and my Garmin I was set (maybe). Turned the tunes up in the car and settled in for a fun few hours. I was impressed with the speed they were able to maintain - this was going to be a fast day. I can't go into the specifics that the guys can - all roads look the same to me (well except for the cool covered bridge). I just knew they were all riding well. It was a day that nobody (no not you Mthd) was going to be left behind. Somebody always stayed back to help bridge that rider back up to the group.

On one climb Rhino was ahead of the group and a turn was coming up - I saw Egg drop his chain and climb past Rhino to make sure everyone made the correct turn. He just forgot to go back and get his chain - he rode the rest of the day without his chain!

After a stop and refuel point they were off again. This year Egg had them hitting Devils Backbone at the 60 mile mark. This is a spot Goose had problems last year and he said earlier he would nail it this year - and he did!

Goose stayed focused and got the job done. Back at Twin Towers it was Goose's turn not to be too talkative. It was definitely a LMD Day for him. I checked, and yep it was missing :) We decided it was time to get some real food, unfortunately Rhino couldn't go with us. He did manage to amuse us before he headed home,
While eating, of course we relived the ride mile-by-mile (lol) - wouldn't have it any other way. All in all it was an excellent day for riding - got a few minutes of sprinkles, just enough to help cool the hot legs down.
This next week will be a busy week - the race that Goose looks forward to the most each year - West Milton Triathlon. This week, his personal training will be geared toward his race.
From Noose - thanks guys for another fun Sunday. If you would have told me 10 years ago that I would enjoy following a bunch of guys around in my care for most of the day - I would have answered - You're Crazy. Some say you are nuts for riding that far, me? - I say thanks for including me.

Excellent - Fun Day

Goose opted not to ride the Friday Night Delight - he got in the water for his legs. Saturday morning brought a run to work to see if the mechanical could fix my car - nope :(. Goose had a dentist appointment in the morning. I knew I needed to ride - cause Sunday is out for me.

I headed out with Goose asking me how far. Didn't know, would let my legs tell me. My ride consisted of Antioch - Neal Pearson - Evanston - Tipp COWsville - Shoop back to Evanston with lots of flat miles mixed in. 35 total - yeah - that is the most miles yet with a good mph. I'm thrilled.

Goose ran and said no pain. He worked on a mile repeat at the end with an EXCELLENT time. Puzzle pieces are starting to fall into place. Guess that winter training paid off!

We are off to the St Chris festival tonight - Goose is working parking and then night time with an early rise for the Cow Adventure tomorrow. Should be fun - I get to sit and drive the entire time!

On and Off the Road Delight

"Nough said about the title!

Goose's recovery has been excellent after Sunday's all out race. He had minor leg pain which is normal for him. It didn't stop/impair any training this week, which is a good thing.

He went out to ride with the Cows Wed night. I think some were surprised given that it had rained most of the day. Ya know Goose and his bling - can't get it dirty. He commented after he got home that he tired at one point, but Egg and gang was able to coach him on. He had a good ride, left nothing out on the road, which means he rode as hard has he could.

Looking forward to this weekend. Long rides for both of us. Saturday for me and Sunday for Goose.

Rick had put my new stem and bars on. I really haven't had trouble adjusting to them. Seat height we are still playing with. Trying to get where I have more leg power. My last ride proved that the set up is working, fastest time ever. That was a once in a blue moon speed, but I am thrilled I accomplished it.

Rain can go away for a few days!

Envelope Please

The Results are: Goose and Joe Won Overall and Open Class ---- and they kicked Ass :) Good day! After 26 years - the Ole Goose still has it (despite what some might say).

A Day Well "Spent"

Today started really early - 4:30! I have noticed Goose and I really like to sleep in -but not today. Headed down the road with not much talk. Goose getting his head ready and me - attempting to wake up.

Got there to see lots of kayaks - glad to see that end pick up. Decent amount open class showed. The one that we know well - Greg Pohl. I looked at his bike and saw he had 2 Iron Man stickers on his bike - pretty cool.

Goose and Joe had their game faces on early. They were the first in the water and jokes were made by people hoping to get in their wake. And they're off! They pulled out ahead of everyone. Determination at it's best. I was impressed with what they had to offer early on. Jeff and Joe have only trimmed the boat this year, and it has been a few years since they have raced together. They didn't miss a beat.
The river wasn't as high as originally thought, but their time was almost what was predicted.
Goose finishing killer hill. Joe topped first and said Jeff was right there, and he was.

Not sure if Goose is deciding if he wants a sandwich (he he - he had a partner that accused him of extremely long transitions times and eating a PB&J sandwich ----- Not today!) Do suppose Lance wears a sperm helmet like this? Maybe that is why he has Max Armstrong :)

He is out of here to have a LMDDay and LMCDay.

Joe and Goose strolling across the finish line. Rules are you have dismount on the road and "run" you bikes across the finish line. There was nobody in sight - so they didn't have to hurry.

Shooting the shit afterwards and waiting on somebody to finish. It looks like they stomped the Open Class and now just waiting on the official results to see how the did overall.

This was truly a "lost my dick day" and Joe definitely "lost his chain". Jeff can tell a huge difference in his cycling (I know Cows - duh :p) Goose is totally spent and had a wonderful time. Racing with Joe is fun, he is so easy going, he encourages Goose, makes sure he is doing OK and actually was surprised that he was able to hang on. I appreciate Joe taking care of Jeff today - and also a really happy note, Joe and Beth are awaiting the arrival of their 3rd child at the end of August first of September.
I love race days like this. Weather was excellent, a little humid, but with an early start time it wasn't too hot. Many spectators today, excellent run race - and it certainly helps when ya win!
Oh and BTW - if there a typos or grammatical errors - get over it -- I AM TIRED. I also raced hard for Goose!

Rock and Roll

Looks like Goose is ready to rock and roll EARLY Sunday morning. He has stretched out his legs, canoe loaded and ready, carbo loading done, now it is time for night time sleep. We will be getting up before the butt crack of morning and heading out. Start time is 7:30 (who thinks up these start times?)

Time to have some fun :)
