No Cows Tonight

After Goose spending many weeks in the water for rehab on his knee, winter long on his trainer, he has been able to get out a few times on the road. Last Sunday he rode south - the plan was 80 but they stopped at 70. He felt wonderful after the ride and Mon & Tue. He called Egg and said he finally would be out Wed to ride with the Cows. As Wed progressed, his energy and feel good body went away. He ended up cancelling on Craig (riding with the Cows is all he talked about since Sun, so I knew he didn't feel good if he cancelled) - thought he would go to the Y and get in the water - he didn't do that either. We actually ate dinner before 8 p.m.!

There is always next week.

It's Back!

Jeff finally got his truck back last night (yeah). Thankfully it only cost half and arm. Last two nights have been no training for Jeff - he worked late on Wed and had to go to Waynesville to get his truck on Thur. Hopefully he will be back on schedule today.

I miss the nice weather - I love to walk outside - walking in circles at the Y is OK but once you get outside, it is hard to return to the inside.

Jeff will be in the water tonight, me - hopefully for me - trainer and then my 30 minute dvd of leg workout.

I think our Sat is planned out and pray for good weather on Sunday so we call all go outside to play!

Beautiful Day

What a beautiful day today! Warm, sunny - some what of a stiff breeze --- but beautiful. Jeff was looking forward to riding outside. I walked my 3+ miles taking a few steps forward, to be push one back by the wind. Got in and just ready to crack open a bullet when Jeff called. His truck died at Northwoods Blvd and North Dixie. As we sat waiting on the tow truck, we were able to enjoy the sun to start setting. Needless to say his ride went to hell tonight. Usual Jeff fashion, took it in stride, hauling in wood instead and enjoying the rest of the sun set. There is always Thursday, so I pray for no rain or snow.

Thursday

After much debate with Jeff and whether I wanted to go in circles again tonight, walk outside - did neither - decided to ride with Coach Troy instead. It t will be easier if I can get on Jeff's schedule (as far as training). He rode with Shawn and Eric again. He thinks he aggravated his knee playing basketball before AJ got to the Y on wednesday (will he ever learn?) but still had a good trainer ride.

Friday - looks like outside walk for me and water again for Jeff.

Here is to a sunny day! :)

Dumb and Dumber

Ya know I have never really watched Dumb and Dumber, but after reading Egg's and Dobo's blogs, they really must have been the models for the name of the movie. Gotta leave Vince , Keith and T-Bolt out of this conversation, they haven't shared their thoughts on the ride yesterday. Sorry Craig - warm? my a$$!

Random Female Thought

Q: Why do men whistle when they are sitting on the toilet?

A: It helps them remember which end they need to wipe.

haha - enjoy your day!!

Chasing Our Tails

Now with a good month of the YMCA under our belts, it is starting to feel like you are chasing your tail. Jeff has been stuck in the water, running up and down the lap lanes for usually an hour at a time. Me, I am upstairs walking in circles for almost an hour. You see dogs going in circles chasing their tails, that is what I am beginning to feel like. I can't wait until the weather warms up for us to get outside.

Jeff rode with Shawn and Eric last night. Not sure that DVD they did, but Jeff said his legs were a "touch" sore, but his knee held up well.

I am looking forward to May - can't wait to travel south for a few days. Now, lets start praying to the weather Gods for good weather for everyone to ride in.

Sunday

YEAH!!! Jeff rode trainer today with Shawn - very little knee pain (little in the center) - nothing than can't be dealt with. He has iced, etc (beers and supper) and now off to get me ice cream --- what a wonderful husband he is --- plus he just wanted to listen to Craig's CD.

DAN CECIL

Have to give a little background on him first: Dan married Kim when they were 17 and 16. Dan finished high school and joined the Air Force. After the birth of their daughter, he started taking classes thanks to the Air Force. After moving through the ranks of enlisted he finished his first 4 years of college and was promoted to a Lt. Once receiving his Master's he opted to take a remote assignment in a war zone so his family could stay in Tipp and the girls could graduate. He came back to WPAFB and received his PHD and once again accepted a remote in a war zone to keep his family together in Tipp. Jeff and I think so much of Dan and Kim - they have won the battle of what could have been a disaster. They are finally back in this area after being in GA, FL and CA. Dan decided to retire as a Lt Col and make his home back in Ohio.

Now comes why I am writing about them. Just got an e-mail from Kim that they are leaving for a trip down south where once again they will be apart for approximately 6 months. Dan has decided to hike the Appalachian Trail as a "thru-hiker" on Monday, March 5 in the morning, beginning near Springer Mt.,GA. He has mapped out a six-month trek, giving himself extra time to do some vacationing along the way. Kim will meet him a couple of times along the way to bring in new supplies and do some sight seeing. Dan will be ending his almost 2200 mile hike at Mt. Katahdin, Maine sometime in late summer. I know he can do this - it is obvious that when he sets a goal, he either meets or exceeds it.

Boy this e-mail just made all of you "cycle & running geeks" look completely normal! Thought I would never say that :P
