Slackers in the House?

You betcha!!!!! OK first need to address the issue of Egg being nuts. TOUGH LOVE - you have to be kidding - I don't care what 50 minutes you ride - you are crazy. OK that being said ----

Goose ran in the water on Thur and and said he is really ready for the road instead of water. Noose rode a recovery (?) ride. Those who know me, know I struggle with standing for a period of time. The recovery DVD had 3 minute internals of standing - that is not a recovery for me.

Friday was a pretty shitty day for N - had an extremely negative issue today with someone. G and I had planned on riding tonight - with a really bad headache. I just about bummed out on him. She had already robbed me of a great afternoon and I decided piss on her - she won't take away my evening. I have t admit I did struggle, but with G by my side, we made it. It all goes back to surrounding yourself with positive people not pissimestic (I know that s spelled wrong). Look forward to repeating this DVD in a better frame of mind.

Looks like a long ride on Sunday for the Beef. Helen isn't that far away, and I know I am looking forward to getting out of Dodge for a few days.

Just One H(e)llacious Day

My computer finally arrived from China - yeah. Booted it up, personalized it, turned it off, then NOTHING! It kept asking for the Recovery Disks provided by HP. What the h@ll! Anyway after fudging with it for hours and hours, sometime through the night it finally reloaded all the programs. Now when I get home today (Thur) we will see if it works. If not, HP can pick it up and fix it.

But on a good note, it was one Hillacious evening. Good ride by both of us. Goose didn't really honk and he road all the gears as Coach Troy called them out. Yes Craig, he did shift when he was suppose to (hehe). It was a fun ride but I think Goose is ready for warmer weather and riding outside.

Tuesday Recovery Day

All in all, neither one of us had many aches and pains from Sunday (Thank God). Little bit of talking from the knees, and that is about it. Today I rode a great 75 minute recovery ride. Nothing really ached. Jeff is running in the woods tonight after work. Then it is DATE NIGHT.

Looks like Sunday might be warm. If so, I am sure Jeff will ride outside and then come home and spin out his legs with me. This Sunday, unlike last, I hope for warm weather. I don't get outside to ride and I am really looking forward to it this year. My plan is for Jeff to get worn out by the cows and come home and ride with me - that way, hopefully, I won't have to keep yelling SLOW DOWN.

After my Dr visit last Friday, with the new Meds I feel like I am actually getting some energy back. Hopefully it will only get better.

Thought for the Day

Nothing But Love

After talking to Craig Saturday evening, we decided to try Tough Love (AGAIN!). We had not been able to complete the entire DVD - neither one of us could successfully motivate the other to the end. We knew Craig was coming, but wasn't sure about anyone else.

Sunday morning Jeff was up early. We opted to have shakes at home and a big breakfast at Cracker Barrel. Knew we would need the calories later. The sun was popping in and out; the rain would come and go. I was afraid the weather would clear and the guys would opt to ride outside. I am glad the rain played games (sorry guys!)

Craig showed up with very special gifts and as usual a big shit-eating grin. He said Crilli would be here for the last 1 1/2. The first hour flew by - everyone was riding the gears, standing at the right times. Then I bonked a little, I had to stand for a few seconds, sit for a few while Jeff and Craig stayed with the pace. Middle of the second hour Crilli showed up. His arrival was a much needed break from the hard seat. Didn't take him long to set up and we were on our way again.

The motivation from Craig and Crilli stepped into high gear. They know Jeff's looks and knew he was getting to the point of turning around and heading for his truck. The encouragement was outstanding, God I fell asleep hearing pedal in circles - what is another 180 seconds - come on you can do it (hehe). There we a couple of times, I really felt like quitting - but I had to prove to myself I could mentally beat the fatigue.

I remember somewhere in the last 5 minutes Jeff proclaimed he was going to barf. And then ---- we were DONE. 3 hours of physical and mental hell.

Sometime during the ride Craig got a call from his little one that she had reached a major milestone - Way to go Emily!!!!!!!

Aftwards, we had the privilege of sitting around and shooting the "cow" crap with Craig and Crilli - ya know you both are nuts.

Crilli took Jeff's bike to do minor surgery. After much teasing, I think Jeff really feared that Crilli would take is aero bars off. I know Craig and Crilli are working on him to take those off - but we will work on one thing at a time with Jeff.

Now we just need for Jeff and Crilli to kick their colds out the door and Craig not to catch it.

Thanks guys, we truly would not have finished it without out you!

Staying Warm

Well it looks like Goose is fighting a cold (and sore knees). Monday was suppose to be a lift day and I crapped out on him. He left for the Y and returned less than 30 minutes later after making a delivery. Probably a good choice - giving himself a much needed rest. Tuesday, with congestion most of the day, Goose decided to take another night off. By the time he got a fire built and dinner, it was his bed time. I was lucky - school had been cancelled and I had the day off. I was able to do an aerobic base DVD for 90 minutes of easy spinning - it felt great and was a good recovery for my legs.

Wednesday plans are for Goose to get in the water and workout his knees. Me? Not sure yet. I know I will exercise to my DVD for 45 minutes, depending on how I feel, I might do Up Hill Grind. Looking forward to this weekend so Jeff and I can ride together again. I am use to riding alone, but now that we have started riding together, it makes the time go so much faster. I tend to push myself harder.

Now it is time to go dance with AJ (gotta love the kiddie music!)

Sunday Fun

Wow - what a day of fun. AJ had spent Saturday night and as usual I didn't get a lot of sleep. I was a little leery of riding with Jeff and Craig today. As we were setting up Jeff decided Craig should be in the middle - great motivation for both of us. When Craig got to our house and set up we popped in Hillacious and started our 2 hour journey. I must admit it was difficult, but I enjoyed the shifting, etc. It helped break up the time. Craig and I had fun "egging" Jeff on - which he was able to get a few remarks back at us. After we finished Hillacious we started On the Road Vol. 1. Craig talks about his recovery rides watching this and I was curious. Loved watching Coach Troy ride (nice legs!). It was different - nice outside riding - many things to look at (trees, etc). Jeff took it very serious, hitting all the gears, standing and honking, I just spun it out - occasionally shifting. Craig had a blast watching Jeff. After getting cleaned up we headed to Classic for much anticipated Pizza. It was delicious, had fun seeing (and meeting some for the first time) some of the cows.

Hope that weather will not permit an outdoor Sunday ride before Spring and we can ride again. What a great day, must say we had no trouble falling asleep Sunday night.

THANKS CRAIG!

Friday Night

Excellent Recovery Ride tonight. Unfortunately, Ezio didn't get the new DVDs in this week. that is OK - excellent ride and planning on Have Mercy for Sunday and then Pizza.

This Week

This week started off with Jeff getting me back into the gym. Things went well for not lifting in over years. I thought I would be really sore on Tuesday, but luckily it wasn't that bad. Tuesday we decided to ride to Uphill Grind. For a short tape (45 minutes) we got a really good workout in. Wednesday was Ash Wednesday so Jeff ran in the water and I went to work out the soreness with a light workout. Thursday Jeff ran with Joe W and I think his legs are going to be sore. They ran hills and Jeff said it was one of the harder runs he has done in a while. I decided to ride the Uphill Grind again - I did better the 2nd half - I knew what to expect.

Friday afternoon I will check with the bike shop to see if the 2 new DVDs I ordered are in. I expect we will do one of those tonight. Jeff could ride outside side, the weather seems to holding out, but he will probably ride with me on the trainer. He is really trying to help me (and he is - it is easier to ride with someone else - then quitting isn’t an option!)

Saturday we are celebrating our daughter's birthday with her in-laws. We also are keeping AJ overnight - Sunday morning we have Grandparents Day in his pre-GIFT class at St Chris. Jeff won't be able to ride with Craig and Dobo, so hopefully we can ride to Tough Love or maybe 2 hill DVDs. THEN - a reward - Classic Pizza - yummy
